Based in the seaside town of Tisvildeleje in Northern Sjælland, Lena Skadegard designs jewelry that reflects the quiet beauty of the Scandinavian landscape. Originally trained as a painter, her artistic sensibility strongly influences each collection; gemstones are chosen much like pigments on a palette, selected for color, light, and subtle tonal relationships. Shifting Nordic light — from pale coastal light to rich forest hues — are an ever-present source of inspiration.
Each piece begins in her studio by the sea, where gemstones are meticulously arranged according color, texture, and natural character. Every design is first composed by the designer by hand, ensuring balance, harmony, and individuality in each piece.
The necklaces are then hand-knotted by specialist artisans in India, whose families have practiced the traditional art of knotting for generations. Crafted with 18k gold accents and finished with 9k clasps, each one of a kind piece embodies a dialogue between Scandinavian design sensibility and heritage craftsmanship. The result is jewelry that feels rare, painterly, refined and deeply personal — modern heirlooms shaped by landscape, hand, and tradition.
